Mylan has a global workforce of 35,000, approximately 475 of whom are based in Vermont. Mylan Technologies Inc. (MTI) possess expertise in the manufacturing and development of transdermal drug-delivery systems and related technologies. The site boasts nearly 400,000 square feet of state-of-the-art, highly-automated laboratory and manufacturing facilities. Mylan also operates a labeling and printed materials division in Vermont. MTI plays an important role int he company's long-term strategy to bring to market complex and difficult-to-manufacture products.
Peerless Clothing is a major North American company with St. Albans as its primary distribution facility. With its most recent expansion now complete, Peerless Clothing has over 1.3 million square feet under roof at its St. Albans facility and employs roughly 400 employees. Its highly mechanized/computerized operation is state of the art and equipped to handle more than two million suits at one time. The St. Albans distribution facility, located in St. Albans Town Industrial Park, handles clothing for such labels as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Joseph Abboud and DKNY among others. Alvin Segal, is chairman and CEO, of Peerless and first joined the company in Montreal in 1951. Ramesh Bansee, of St. Albans, is the company’s Director of Distributions.
